Discover design changemaking

For too long, the world has been designed to uphold profit, power and extraction. What if we expanded design—making it community-led, rooting it in liberation & justice, and harnessing it to make change across systems?

That's what design changemaking helps us do. Discover this practice, ethos and movement in our Design Changemaking Portal.

The Grove: Foundations of Design Changemaking

Build the groundwork for change

Change starts with deep reflection and unlearning—not rushing to act. I’ve designed an online learning immersion (The Grove) that helps you lay the groundwork for a more liberatory design practice.

Through rich storytelling, guided reflections, and real-world cases, you'll unpack the foundations of design changemaking at a pace that honors deep learning and introspection.

Meet our founder

Hi, I'm Sandra Camacho (She/Her), a.k.a. Sandra By Design. Design Changemakers emerged out of my desire to mobilize designers into learning and action around liberation, equity and justice. I'm excited to be in community with you as convener of this shared space.

I started my career at Google and have spent nearly 15 years enabling people to innovate, use design-centric methods and create a positive impact. Today, I train and consult with clients around the world on diversity, equity and inclusion, equitable design and responsible innovation.
